Annual Book Character Parade at HPS
- We invite students to dress up as their favorite book characters for the day, and bring the book to accompany their costume
- It begins at approximately 9:05 am after morning announcements, and Barkley will lead the parade
- Students will walk outside by the door that is closest to the basketball court, walking toward the door by the kindergarten/EXCEL wing
- If it is raining or too wet outside, the parade will be canceled, and a message will be sent via ParentSquare that morning
- Parents/Guardians are welcome to come and watch the parade, but please note it’s a very short time (about 10 minutes from start to finish)
- Students should come to school already dressed up, the costume should be comfortable to wear all day, and easy to manipulate when thinking of them independently, using the bathroom
- For safety purposes, students may not wear masks or bring in any type of toy weapon that may be associated with the outfit
