Thomas Jefferson believed in the importance of self-care, healthy decision making, and exercising good character, and this is what our SNIS health program is all about, too.  A Healthy individual is someone who is able to balance their physical, emotional and social well being, so each of our lessons will always focus on one or more of these important areas.

Your child will receive one 30 minute health lesson every 6 days.  Each lesson will teach a specific health skill and concept focusing on one or more of the content areas depicted below.   If you wish to see specifically what your child is learning in health class, simply click on your child’s grade tab located in the left black column under “curriculum and instruction”.  Here you can view the content area and an overview of student learning objectives. Your child will hear or read stories, view short video clips, create art projects and act out various scenarios to aid in skill and concept aquisition. To supplement what your child learns in the classroom you can also click on my resources page to find additional books, tips, current events, and websites to help guide your conversations at home around the dinner table!
