Grades 6-7 Math

In Grades 6 and 7, we have implemented the use of the Connected Math Program. CMP is a problem-centered curriculum promoting an inquiry-based teaching-learning classroom environment. Mathematical ideas are identified and embedded in a carefully sequenced set of tasks and explored in depth  to allow students to develop rich mathematical understandings. The CT Core Standards and the Standards for Mathematical Practice emerge as students pursue solutions to problems.

Online Resources - Online Math Access for Connected Math - Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom - IXL is online math practice categorized by grade and content - Math Playground - common core online activities by grade - Adapted Mind - online math activities by grade and content - AAA Math- features a comprehensive set of thousands of interactive arithmetic lessons. - Hooda Math, a free online math game site. Games can be searched by grade and topic.
